Under the picnic tree

A couple of weeks ago, I met up with another one of my favourite families for a fun picnic – it was so fun, the ants thought they would join in too. So we found a big ol’ tree in a big green field to park the picnic blanket, the kids and treats. The picnic brought back memories of my childhood with the old fashioned pop bottles that we would buy from the Pic-A-Pop store across the street from where I lived. Oh to be a kid again! Some of my favourite photos of the three kids, Addie, Alex and Kayden, are the ones of them playing with some of the “vintage” cameras I brought along. The expressions on their faces are hilarious as they try to figure out where to look through, how to hold the cameras, where the photo will show up, why the photo isn’t showing up and just why those cameras were so odd to begin with. I think Kayden’s face says it all – I’m sure he was thinking “what the heck is this thing?” Seriously, these kids have grown so much in the last year – it’s such a pleasure to be able to capture all those big changes. I also really love the photos of the parents at the end; while I think it’s always important to document how your are as a family, it’s just as important to have photos of just the two of you too.
