Frequently asked questions

I am interested in a photo shoot, what should I do now?

Fantastic! Please contact me for session and pricing information. We can discuss your session, plan for a time and location – once your contract is signed and a deposit is received, consider yourself booked.

Where should we go for our photo shoot?

Locations are chosen to reflect the personal style and interests of the families I photograph, using available natural light. Thus, locations chosen are generally outdoors whenever possible, in fields, farms, parks, nature reserves, urban or historic downtown, anything scenic or may be in the client’s home or an indoor location (during the cooler months).

I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting locations, so please feel free to suggest any ideas that you may have and we can work together to find something fun and unique for you and your family. Locations are chosen specifically with you and your family in mind so you will not see the same location from one shoot to the next on my site.

What should I/we wear?

After a session date is secured, I will send a What to Wear guideline. In general, I suggest dressing in layers and colour coordinate, not colour match (tops and bottoms) and wear what best reflects who you are, and your style, on a regular basis. Location of the shoot should also be a factor in your choice of clothing.

Do you take extended family sessions? My family is in town and we’d like a photo of all of us together.

As much as I’d like to document your reunion, I am no longer accepting extended family sessions (multiple families), or groups over the size of eight (8).

When should I schedule my maternity session?

Belly (maternity) sessions are scheduled between the 33-37 week stages of your pregnancy depending on your comfort level.

Do you take newborn sessions?

I am no longer taking newborn sessions but can recommend lots of great photographers who specialize in newborn photography.

Do you shoot just couples?

YES, YES, YES!!! I looooove shooting just couples.

Do you shoot weddings?

While I love the idea of being a part of such an amazing day of love and celebration, I do not shoot weddings. I’d be happy to refer some wonderful and talented wedding photographers if you are searching for one.
